These pretty "Crested Cholla Cactus" are unusual but don'tget too close to the
teddybear cholla, jumping cholla, or chain fruit cholla. If you touch one it will get you.
You will swear you didn't touch it. The jumping cholla seems like an excellent
description at this time, but not true. It has reverse barbs on the needle like thorn.
Don't grab it with your hand. It's best to use a large comb to remove them.
It's going to hurt. They have a beautiful flower and usually blooms, at least it seems
like, in the hottest part of the summer. Not all Cholla Cactus have the reverse barb.
The Staghorn Cholla doesn't, but it still has the needle-like thorn.
