White Flowers only last for one or two days. The yellow/green buds haven't opened yet The brown on the darker green buds have opened earlier. The darker green buds is the fruit and when the fruit is ripe, will turn red and burst open showing the red pulp inside with the tiny seeds.

Up Close and Past Blooming - Still Beautiful! The flowers are white during the bloom. They are brown here above the green fruit. The red looking flower is actually the ripe fruit after it splits open.
